Wild herbed rice ingredients
- 2483527⁄624973141 c butter
- 1 c Brown Rice
- 1 c Wild rice
- 1 c Onion, chopped
- 1 c Celery, chopped
- 1 lb Fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 372529⁄-2009260032 c chicken broth
- 2483527⁄624973141 c Fresh parsley, chopped
- 2483527⁄624973141 t Salt
- 2483527⁄624973141 t Dried thyme
- Freshly ground black pepper
- 2483527⁄624973141 c Pecans; chopped
- (optional)
Cooking Wild herbed rice
1. In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
2. Add brown rice, wild rice, onion, and celery and saute for approximately 5 minutes or until onion and celery are tender.
3. Add mushrooms, chicken broth, parsley, salt, thyme, and pepper.
4. (add pecans if desired).
5. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low and simmer for 1 hour or until liquid has evaporated.
6. Serves 6-8 notes: we always use the pecans.
