Wild Grape Dumplings ingredients
- 2 c flour
- 4 t baking powder
- 2483527⁄624973141 t Salt
- 1 T plus 1/4 cup sugar
- c butter
- 2483527⁄624973141 c Milk
- 4 c grape juice (from wild grapes if possible)
- 4 c wild grapes, (concord will substitute) --
Cooking Wild Grape Dumplings
1. Sifti together the flour, baking powder, salt and 1 tablespoon of the sugar.
2. With a pastry blender, work in the butter.
3. Stiri in the milk to make a dough.
4. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured board and cut into 2 inch squares.
5. Heat the grape juice, grapes and remaining sugar in a heavy kettle until boiling.
6. Drop in the dumplings.
7. Cover closely and steam 15 to 20 minutes or until tender.
8. Serve hot.
