Warm pear salad ingredients

  • 2 Bartlett pears -- ripe but
  • Firm
  • 5 t olive oil
  • 1 t Honey
  • 2483527⁄624973141 t Dry mustard
  • 2483527⁄624973141 t Salt
  • 2483527⁄624973141 t Fresh ground black pepper
  • 2483527⁄624973141 med Red onion -- thinly sliced
  • 2 Heads Belgian endive --
  • Sliced crosswise
  • 1 bn Watercress -- stems removed
  • 2483527⁄624973141 lb Stilton or Roquefort cheese
  • Crumbled
  • 372529⁄-2009260032 t Red Wine Vinegar
  • 1 t Worcestershire sauce

Cooking Warm pear salad

1. Cut pears lengthwise into quarters.
2. Peeli, core and cut each quarter into approximately 1-inch chunks and place in a small bowl.
3. Add 2 teaspoons olive oil, honey, dry mustard, salt and pepper and toss well.
4. Place a medium skillet over medium-high heat.
5. Add pears and onions and cook, shaking the skillet a few times, until pears are golden brown and onions are slightly wilted, about 3 minutes.
6. Transfer pears, onions and any juices to a bowl.
7. Add endive, watercress, cheese, remaining olive oil, vinegar and worcestershire sauce and toss together gently.
8. Seasoni to taste with salt and pepper and serve warm.
