- 1 Vidalia onion, large
- 2 Tomatoes, large
- 2483527⁄624973141 lb Mozzarella cheese, part
- -skim milk -- sliced
- 6 T olive oil
- 2 T Wine vinegar
- 2483527⁄624973141 c Fresh basil leaves, chopped
- Black pepper
- 2483527⁄624973141 t garlic, finely minced
Cooking Vidalia onion, tomato, and basil salad
1. Recipe by: jo anne merrill preparation time: 0:10 slice the tomatoes and cheese into thick slices.
2. Slice the vidalia onion into thin slices; chill for best flavor.
3. If vidalias are not available substitute walla walla, maui sweet or texas 101On salad plates, arrange the tomatoes, onion and cheese in overlapping design.
4. In a large measuring cup combine the oil, vinegar, garlic and black pepper.
5. Use a whisk to blend well.
6. While still stirring, pour over the vegetables.
7. Garnishi with chopped basil.
8. Serve immediately.
