Ukrainian Sweet and Sour Bean and Cabbage Soup ingredients

  • 2 turkey drumstick
  • 3 Onions
  • 1 Saurkraut
  • 3 Carrots
  • 1 Cabbage
  • 1 Tomato paste
  • 1 cn White beans
  • Salt and pepper

Cooking Ukrainian Sweet and Sour Bean and Cabbage Soup

1. Boil turkey legs and onions for several hours.
2. Add the saurkraut to the stock, after removing meat/bones.
3. Cook this covered for about 45 minutes.
4. Next add the shredded carrots.
5. Cook for about 10 minutes.
6. Then add the chopped cabbage, cooking for about 15 minutes, or until the fresh cabbage is tender.
7. Then add the tomato paste, mixing until it's dissolved.
8. Now bring it back to boiling, and cook for a couple of minutes.
9. Next add the beans.
10. Heat until boiling, then cover it and let it sit for about an hour so the flavors can mix. If there is not enough liquid, you can add water or tomato juice.
11. Add salt and pepper to taste.
