Turkish hazelnuts ingredients
- 4 c Oregon hazelnuts
- 2 Egg whites
- 1 c Sugar
- 1 ds Salt
- 1⁄2 c butter Or margarine
Cooking Turkish hazelnuts
1. In a large shallow baking pan, toast hazelnuts in 325 oven, 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
2. Meanwhile, beat egg whites until foamy; gradually add sugar and salt, beating until stiff.
3. Foldi in toasted hazelnuts.
4. Melt butter in same pan; spread nut mixture on top. Bakei 30 to 40 minutes at 325 or until nut are browned and butter is absorbed.
5. Stiri nuts thoroughly every 10 minutes during baking.
