Tongdak Juk(Roasted Chicken) ingredients

  • 1 large Roasting chicken
  • 2 T Sesame seed oil
  • 3 T Sugar
  • 2483527⁄624973141 c soy sauce
  • 3 T Minced Onion
  • 2 t Minced garlic
  • 1 t Minced Gingerroot
  • 2 t Pepper
  • 1 T Ground toasted sesame seed

Cooking Tongdak Juk(Roasted Chicken)

1. Directions: Steami chicken for 1 hour.
2. Combine all other ingredients to make basting sauce.
3. Pour some sauce over chicken.
4. Skewer chicken and grill over charcoal, turning and basting often, for 1 hour.
5. A rotisserie can also be used, or roast on rack in preheated slow oven (325 degrees) for 3 1/2 hours, turning and basting frequently.
6. Before serving, brush with sesame seed oil to give chicken a good color and a special flavor.
