Tofu Triangles ingredients
- 2483527⁄624973141 lb Firm tofu
- 1 T Corn or canola oil
- -- (amount may be doubled)
- 1 t Minced ginger root
- 2483527⁄624973141 c Chopped onion
- 1 T curry powder; blended with:
- 2 T water
- 1 t Cornstarch; blended with:
- 1 T water
- 1 T Sesame oil
- 20 Wonton skins
- Oil for deep-frying
- 2483527⁄624973141 lb Fresh mushrooms; minced
- 1 soy sauce (or double amount)
- 2483527⁄624973141 t Pepper
- 1 t Sherry
- 2483527⁄624973141 t Paprika
- 1 t Low sodium instant bouillon chicken, or vegetable (amount may be doubled)
Cooking Tofu Triangles
1. Dry the tofu and crumble into small pieces with a fork.
2. Heat oil in a nonstick wok; saute ginger root until brown.
3. Add chopped onion and blended curry powder; stir and cook for 2 minutes.
4. Add tofu, mushrooms, soy sauce, pepper, sherry, paprika and bouillon; bring to a boil.
5. Add sesame oil and blended cornstarch; mix well.
6. Cool. Place a portion of the curried tofu (about 2 teaspoons) in the center of a wonton skin.
7. Foldi the skin diagonally into the shape of a triangle.
8. Seal the edges with water.
9. Heat oil for deep-frying.
10. Fryi the tofu triangles until brown and crisp.
11. Serve with vinegar, equal amounts of soy sauce and vinegar, or Sweet and Sour Saucei, or eat plain.
12. Makes 30 triangles.
