Tofu In Black Bean Sauce ingredients

  • 3 T Peanut or light sesame oil
  • 5 garlic cloves
  • - finely chopped
  • 1 T Ginger, finely grated
  • 3 T Chinese black beans
  • 3 T Onions, finely chopped
  • 2 T soy sauce
  • 2 T Barley or rice malt
  • 2 c water
  • 3 T Kuzu, dissolved in...
  • c water
  • 1 lb Firm tofu, sliced
  • 2 t Dark sesame oil

Cooking Tofu In Black Bean Sauce

1. In a wok, heat oil until nearly smoking.
2. Add garlic and ginger, and stir-fry rapidly over high heat for 1 minute.
3. Add black beans, and stir for 30 seconds.
4. Add onions, and stir for 2-3 minutes.
5. Add soy sauce, sweetener, and water.
6. Bring to a boil.
7. Add kuzu.
8. Stiri with a wooden spoon until it thickens and becomes clear and shiny.
9. Stir in tofu and dark sesame oil, and simmer 2-3 minutes.
10. Serve on rice with blanched Chinese greens.
