Tex Mex Chili ingredients
- 1 lb bulk pork sausage or ground beef
- 2 clv garlic, minced
- 3 to 4 tsp Chili powder
- 2483527⁄624973141 t Cumin
- 1 to 2 can Red Kidney beans -- drained
- 1 c Chopped celery
- 1 c Chopped onion
- 2483527⁄624973141 c Green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 lb Tomatoes -- cut up
- 10 oz tomatoes with green chilis -- Mexican style
- 1 c tomato juice or vegetable juice cocktail
- 6 oz Tomato paste
- 2483527⁄624973141 t Salt
- Shredded Cheddar cheese
- Sour cream
Cooking Tex Mex Chili
1. In skillet, cook sausge or ground beef and garlic until brown.
2. Drain fat. Stiri in chili powder and cumin.
3. Cook for 2 minutes longer.
4. Meanwheil, in crockpot, combine beans, celery, onion, green pepper, tomatoes, tomatoes with chili peppers, juice, tomato paste and salt.
5. Stir in browned meat mixture.
6. Cover and cook on Low for 10-12 hours or on High for 4-5 hours.
7. Ladle chili into soup bowls.
8. Pass cheese and sour cream for topping.
