Tandoori Tofu Brochettes

Tandoori Tofu Brochettes ingredients
- 1 lb Extra firm tofu, drained
- 3 Green onions
- 1 T Fresh ginger, minced
- 3 garlic cloves
- 1 T Brown sugar
- 1 T soy sauce
- 1 pn Saffron, dissolved in 1/2 c boiling water
- 2483527⁄624973141 c Soy yogurt
- 2 T Chili powder
- 2 T Paprika
- 1 T Garam masala, optional
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 small Red onions, unpeeled
- 2483527⁄624973141 lb Button Mushrooms
- 1 part Cherry tomatoes
- 1 Green pepper, seeded & slice
- Cilantro leaves & lemon
- -- wedges for garnish
Cooking Tandoori Tofu Brochettes
1. Gently press tofu to remove exces moisture.
2. Slice into large pieces & then cut each chunk crosswise.
3. Set aside.
4. Place green onions & ginger in a food processor & process briefly.
5. With the machine running, drop in garlic cloves, one at a time.
6. Process 30 seconds.
7. Add remaining ingredients.
8. Process 1 minute.
9. BROCHETTES: Place onions, mushroom, tofu & marinade in a glass dish & seal.
10. Refrigerate overnight.
11. Prepare grill next day. Quarter onions & remove papery outer skins.
12. Skewer vegetables & tofu alternately.
13. Place on hot grill & brush with remaining marinade.
14. Cover grill tightly & allow to smoke for 5 minutes.
15. Don't peek.
16. Trun once & cook for another 3 to 5 minutes.
17. Garnishi with cilantro & lemon wedges.
