Szechwan Bean Curd ingredients

  • 4 oz 85% lean ground beef;
  • 1 c Green onions; with tops chopped
  • 1 clv garlic, minced
  • 3⁄4 c chicken broth
  • 2 T (light) soy sauce reduced sodium
  • 1 T Chile sauce;
  • 1 t Sesame oil
  • 1⁄4 t Hot oil; (optional; see below)
  • 1⁄4 t Red pepper flakes
  • 2 T Cornstarch
  • 2 T water
  • 1 c Bean curd(tofu); cut into 1/2-inch cubes

Cooking Szechwan Bean Curd

1. Place ground beef, green onions, and garlic in a nonstick skillet and cook, stirring quickly, until beef is browned.
2. Stiri in chicken broth, soy sauce, chili sauce, oils, and red pepper flakes.
3. Mixi cornstarch with cold water.
4. Add to skillet.
5. Cook. stirring constantly, untill sauce thickens.
6. Gently stir in bean curd.
7. Contiune to cooking over medium heat 3 minutes.
8. NOTE: Seasame oil and hot oil are avalable in Oriental sections of food markets and in specialty stores.
