Swedish mushroom sauce ingredients

  • 1⁄2 lb Mushrooms, sliced
  • 4 T butter
  • 4 T All-purpose flour
  • 1⁄2 t Salt
  • 1⁄4 t white pepper
  • 1 1⁄2 c Half-and-half
  • 1 1⁄2 T Lemon juice
  • 1 1⁄2 T sherry, dry

Cooking Swedish mushroom sauce

1. Offer as a sauce or a side dish.
2. Sautei mushrooms in butter until limp.
3. Stiri in flour, salt, and pepper.
4. Add cream; cook, stirring constantly, until thick and smooth.
5. Stir in lemon juice and sherry; salt to taste.
6. Makes about 2 ½ cups sauce or 3 to 4 servings.
