SWEDISH MEET BALLS (KOTTBULLAR) ingredients
- 1 lb Beef
- 2 lb pork
- 2 lb Veal
- 2 Eggs
- 2⁄3 c Bread crumbs
- 1 c Milk
- 2 t Salt
- 8 t Pepper
- 1 t Ground nutmeg
- 3 T -Shortening
Cooking SWEDISH MEET BALLS (KOTTBULLAR)
1. flour water or stock
Grindi meats together 3 times.
2. Mixi with eggs, bread crumbs, milk, salt,
pepper and nutmeg and make into small balls.
3. Browni in skillet in hot
shortening.
4. Remove meat balls to larger larger pan. Add 1/2 cup flour to
skillet and brown, stirring to prevent scorching.
5. Add enough water or stock
to make a thin gravy.
6. Pour gravy over meat balls.
7. Cook gently for 1 hour,
stirring often to prevent sticking.
8. Flavor improves with long simmering.
9. Serve in gravy.
