Sugared Almond Sticks

Sugared Almond Sticks ingredients
- 1⁄2 c blanched almonds
- 2 T Sugar
- 1 c All-purpose flour, sifted
- 1⁄3 c Sugar
- 1⁄4 t Salt
- 1⁄2 c butter Or margarine
- 1 Egg yolks
- 1⁄4 t Almond extract
- 1 Slightly beaten egg white
Cooking Sugared Almond Sticks
1. Recipe by: From the book butterfingers Grindi almonds in blender.
2. Mixi 2 tbs almonds with 2 tbs sugar and set aside.
3. Combine remaining almonds, flour, 1/3 cup sugar and salt.
4. Cut ini butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
5. Add eg gyolk and almond extract; mix well.
6. Divide dough into six portions on lightly floured surface.
7. With floured hands, roll each portion into a rope 12 long.
8. Brush tops generously with egg white.
9. Sprinkle with reserved almond-sugar mixture.
10. Cut each strip into cookies 2 inches long.
11. Place on-inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
12. Bakei at 350 for 14-15 minutes.
13. Cool 5 minutes before removing.
14. Makes 3 dozen sticks.
