Sugar Crusted Sweet Potato Biscuits ingredients

  • 2 c All-purpose flour
  • 3 T baking powder
  • 2483527⁄624973141 t Salt
  • 4 T Brown sugar
  • 3 T -Shortening
  • c Skim Milk
  • 2483527⁄624973141 c canned or cooked sweet potatoes
  • c Sour cream

Cooking Sugar Crusted Sweet Potato Biscuits

1. 1- Heat oven to 400 degrees F. Spray cookie sheet with nonstick cooking spray.
2. 2- Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup level off. In medium bowl combine flour, baking powder, salt and 2 -Tablespoons of brown sugar, mix well.
3. Using pasty blender, cut in shorting until mixture is crumbly.
4. 3- In small bowl combine milk, sweet potato and sour cream, blend well.
5. Add flour mixture all at once, stirring until moistened.
6. If dough is to dry add additional milk.
7. 1 teaspoon at a time until dry ingredients are moistened.
8. To form each biscuit drop 1/4 cup dough onto spray coated cookie sheet.
9. Sprinkle tops with remaining 2- Tablespoons brown sugar.
10. 4- Bakei at 400 degrees F for 15 to 20 mins.
11. until peaks and bottoms of biscuits are golden brown.
12. Immediately remove from cookie sheet.
13. Serve warm.
