STRAWBERRY SANGRIA ICE ingredients

  • 2 pt baskets fresh California Strawberries,stemmed
  • 1⁄4 c Sugar
  • 1 c Dry red wine
  • 2 T Lemon juice
  • 1 1⁄2 T Frozen Orange Juice
  • Mint sprigs, for garnish

Cooking STRAWBERRY SANGRIA ICE

1. Tangy sangria, spritzed with sparkling water makes a festive, summer treat.
2. In large bowl crush 1/2 basket of the strawberries with the sugar.
3. Add wine, lemon juice and orange juice concentrate, stirring to dissolve sugar.
4. Pour into shallow pan; freeze until firm.
5. To serve, fill 4 stemmed glasses with spoonfuls of sangria ice and the remaining strawberries, halved (reserve 4 whole strawberries for garnish).
6. Fill with sparkling water.
7. Garnishi with whole strawberries, orange slices and mint sprigs.
8. Serve with spoons and straws.
9. Per serving: 173 calories; 2 grams protien; 1 gram fat; 33 grams carbohydrate; 0 milligrams cholesterol.
