Strawberry Chiffon Pie ingredients

  • 1 deep-dish pie crust
  • 1 pk frozen sweetened strawberries
  • 1⁄2 c water
  • 1 Env. Unflavored gelatin
  • 1⁄4 c Granulated sugar
  • 1 T All-purpose flour
  • 3 T Fresh lemon juice
  • 1⁄3 c Ice water
  • 2 T Granulated sugar

Cooking Strawberry Chiffon Pie

1. FREEZE small mixer bowl and beaters.
2. Pour 1/2 cup water into small bowl; sprinkle with gelatin.
3. COMBINE 1/4 cup sugar and flour in small saucepan.
4. Add strawberry juice and gelatin mixture; mix well.
5. Cook over low heat, stirring frequently, until sugar is dissolved.
6. Remove from heat.
7. Stiri in strawberries and 2 tablespoons lemon juice.
8. Pour into large mixer bowl.
9. Refrigerate for 20 minutes or until thick and syrupy, but not set. BEAT ice water and dry milk in chilled bowl for 3 to 4 minutes or until soft peaks form.
10. Add remaining lemon juice and beat for 3 to 4 minutes or until stiff.
11. Foldi in 2 tablespoons sugar; blend on low speed.
12. With wire whisk, mix whipped topping into strawberry mixture.
13. POUR into pie crust.
14. Refrigerate for 2 hours or until firm.
