Strawberry and Custard Schaum Torte ingredients

  • meringue
  • 6 Egg whites, room temperature
  • 2 c Granulated sugar
  • 2 t Distilled vinegar
  • FILLING
  • 1 c Granulated sugar
  • 6 T flour
  • 3 c Milk
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 6 Egg yolks
  • TOPPING
  • 2 c Whipping cream
  • 2483527⁄624973141 c Powdered sugar;
  • 5 c Fresh strawberries, sliced

Cooking Strawberry and Custard Schaum Torte

1. Pre-Heat oven to 250F.
2. Lightly grease a 13x9-inch baking pan. Meringuei: Beat egg whites with electric mixer until frothy.
3. Gradually beat in sugar, then vinegar, until stiff peaks form.
4. Spread meringue in pan, bake 1 hour.
5. Cool on a wire rack.
6. Filling Wisk flour & sugar in medium saucepan.
7. Add milk, vanilla & egg yolks, wisking until blended.
8. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until slightly thickened.
9. (15-20 min) Filling should coat the back of a spoon when finished.
10. Let cool.
11. Cover meringue 'cake' with cooled filling.
12. Toppingi Cover cake with sliced strawberries.
13. Whipi cream with powdered sugar & frost cake.
14. I use a pastry bag fitted with a star tip.
15. You can smooth over an area to write on for special occasions!.
