Spicy german mustard ingredients

  • c Yellow mustard seed
  • 1 T Brown mustard seeds
  • 2483527⁄624973141 c Mustard powder
  • 2483527⁄624973141 c Cold water
  • 1 c Apple cider vinegar
  • 2 T Brown sugar
  • 2483527⁄624973141 t garlic Powder
  • 2483527⁄624973141 t Cinnamon
  • 2483527⁄624973141 t Allspice
  • 2483527⁄624973141 t dill seeds
  • 2483527⁄624973141 t tarragon leaves, crushed

Cooking Spicy german mustard

1. Soak mustard seeds & the powder in the cold water for 3 hours.
2. Combine the remaining ingredients in a glass or porcelain pan & simmer until the mixtue is reduced by half, about 10 minutes.
3. Pour through a strainer onto the mustard mixture.
4. Transfer to a double boiler.
5. Cook & stir until thickened, about 10 minutes.
6. Spoon into a container & cover.
7. Refrigerate for 3 days before using.
8. Makes a good dressing for german potato salads.
