Soy Sauce Snapper ingredients

  • 2 lb Pacific snapper
  • 1 T Fresh ginger root
  • c soy sauce
  • 2 T Dry white wine
  • 2 c water
  • c Sugar
  • 2 Whole star anise

Cooking Soy Sauce Snapper

1. Rinse fish with cold water; pat dry with paper towels.
2. Set aside.
3. Using garlic press, press juice of ginger into soy sauce; pour into large skillet.
4. Add remaining ingredients (except fish); bring to boil.
5. Reducei heat and add fish.
6. Cover and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until fish flakes easily when tested with a fork.
7. Remove fish to serving platter and keep warm.
8. Over high heat, bring poaching liquid to boil.
9. Continue cooking for 10-15 minutes, or until sauce thickens, stirring occasionally.
10. Pour sauce over fish.
