Sourdough Bread

Sourdough Bread ingredients
- 1 1⁄2 c Sourdough starter
- 3 c Lukewarm water
- 2 T Sugar
- 1 T Salt
- 5 c flour
- 1⁄4 c Melted butter
- 1 1⁄2 c Whole-wheat flour
- Cornmeal

Cooking Sourdough Bread
1. Remove 1 1/2 cup starter (replenish the rest before returning to the fridge.
2. ) Add water, sugar, salt, and 2 1/2 cups white flour, mix. Let stand in a warm p lace for 12 to 18 hours.
3. Stiri down and add butter, whole wheat flour, and enou gh white flour to make a stiff bread dough.
4. Kneadi for 10 minutes.
5. Place in a clean buttered bowl, cover and let rise 2 hours.
6. Punch down and shape into 2 r ound loaves.
7. Place on oiled baking sheet, sprinkled with cornmeal.
8. Let rise 1 1/2 hours.
9. Bakei 40 - 50 minutes at 400 degrees until bread sounds hollow whe n tapped.
