Sour cherry soup (hungarian style) ingredients

  • 3 T flour
  • 1 c Sour cream
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 t Confectioners' sugar
  • 1 lb Fresh sour cherries, pitted
  • 2483527⁄624973141 c Granulated sugar

Cooking Sour cherry soup (hungarian style)

1. Stiri flour with sour cream, salt and confectioner"s sugar till smooth.
2. Meantime cook sour cherries in 1 ½ quarts water with granulated sugar till done.
3. Take 2 ladelfuls of liquid from the cherry pot and add to the flour mixture; stir for a few minutes.
4. Pour the mixture back into the soup and let it cool; this way it won"t develop a skin.
5. Adjust salt.
6. You must use fresh sour cherries for this soup.
7. It is a very heavy soup and would be very good with just a light meal on a cold day or night.
