Rice with peas and whole spices ingredients

- 5 Whole Cloves
- 5 Black peppercorns
- 1 Whole cinnamon stick, 2"

- 2 c Rice, long grain or basmati
- 1 c Peas
- 1 T Coriander
- 1 t Cumin

- 1 t Salt

Cooking Rice with peas and whole spices
1. Heat the oil in a 3 quart pot over medium heat.
2. Add the spices and fry a bit, 10-20 seconds.
3. Add the rice and stir to coat with the oil and spices, add the rest of the ingredients except the peas.
4. Bring to a boil.
5. Reducei heat cover tightly and cook over low heat for about 25 minutes.
6. Add the defrosted peas to the top of the rice and cover again for about 5 minutes.
7. Gently mix the rice and peas and serve.
8. Serve with yogurt and with cut up tomatoes, salt and pepper.
9. This dish tastes good with koftas.
