Rice and peas ingredients

  • 1 c Rice
  • 1 pk peas, frozen
  • 6 T butter
  • 1⁄3 c Onion, minced
  • 2 T parsley, minced
  • 1 T Salt
  • 2 T Parmesan cheese
  • 2 c water

Cooking Rice and peas

1. Cook peas according to directions, drain well and hold aside.
2. In heavy sauce pan saute" onion and parsley with 2/3 of the butter (for about 5 minutes).
3. Add rice and continue to saute" for 5 minutes.
4. Add water and bring to boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
5. Stiri peas, salt and remaining butter into rice.
6. Place on a serving dish and add parmesan cheese.
