Rice and bulgur pilaf ingredients

  • 1 T butter
  • 1⁄2 c Onion -- finely chopped
  • 1 c Brown Rice
  • 1⁄2 c Bulgur
  • 3⁄5 qt chicken stock
  • 1⁄4 c Dried Currants
  • 1⁄2 t Allspice
  • Fresh ground pepper -- too
  • Taste
  • 1⁄2 c pine nuts -- toasted

Cooking Rice and bulgur pilaf

1. In a heavy saucepan, melt the butter, add the onions sauteing it until it is t ranslucent.
2. Add the rice and bulgur, stirring them to coat them with the butter.
3. Then add the broth, currants, allspice, pepper and salt if desired.
4. Stiri the ingredie nts to combine them well.
5. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat and cook about 25 minutes until liquid is absorbed.
6. Top with pinenuts.
