Peanut butter 'n fudge filled bars ingredients

  • 1 c margarine or butter
  • -- softened
  • 2 c brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1⁄4 c Peanut butter
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 c Quaker Oats, uncooked
  • -- (quick or old-fashioned)
  • 2 c All-purpose flour
  • 1 t Baking soda
  • 1⁄4 t Salt (optional)
  • 14 oz Sweetened condensed milk
  • -- (not evaporated milk)
  • 12 oz Semisweet chocolate pieces
  • 2 T Peanut butter
  • 1⁄2 c Chopped peanuts

Cooking Peanut butter 'n fudge filled bars

1. Heat oven to 350°F.
2. Beat together margarine, sugar and ¼ cup peanut butter until creamy.
3. Add eggs, beat well.
4. Add combined dry ingredients; mix well.
5. Reserve 1 cup for topping, set aside.
6. Spread remaining oat mixture onto bottom of ungreased 13 x 9-inch baking pan. In medium saucepan, combine condensed milk, chocolate pieces and remaining 2 tablespoons peanut butter.
7. Cook over low heat until chocolate is melted, stirring constantly.
8. Remove from heat; stir in peanuts.
9. Spread mixture evenly over crust.
10. Drop reserved oat toppingby teaspoonfuls over chocolate mixture.
11. Bakei 25 to 30 minutes or until light golden brown.
12. Cool completely; cut into bars.
