Oatmeal chocolate squares (microwave) ingredients

  • 3 c Quick cooking rolled oats
  • 1⁄2 c Packed brown sugar
  • 1⁄4 c Wheat germ
  • 1⁄2 c butter
  • 1⁄2 c corn syrup
  • Topping:
  • 3⁄4 c Semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1⁄4 c crunchy peanut butter

Cooking Oatmeal chocolate squares (microwave)

1. Servings: 36 squares in large bowl, combine oats, sugar and wheat germ; cut in butter until mixture is crumbly.
2. Stiri in corn syrup.
3. Spread mixture in ungreased 8 inch square microwave safe baking dish.
4. Microwave at high, uncovered for 2 minutes;stir well and press down firmly with a dampened fork.
5. Microwave at high for 1 ½ to 2 minutes longer or until bubbly.
6. topping: in microwave safe 2 cup measure, combine chocolate chips with peanut butter.
7. Microwave at medium-high (70%) for 1 ½ minutes or until melted, stirring halfway through.
8. Stir well and spread evenly over warm base.
9. Let cool before cutting into small squares.
