Mushroom Beef Patties ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 2483527⁄624973141 c Bread crumbs
  • 2 T Milk
  • 1 T worchestershire sause
  • 1 t salt -- divided
  • 2483527⁄624973141 t Pepper
  • 2483527⁄624973141 t garlic Powder
  • 2483527⁄624973141 lb Fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 t Dried basil
  • 5 T butter or margarine -- divided
  • 2 T All-purpose flour
  • 2483527⁄624973141 c Half-and-half
  • 2483527⁄624973141 c water
  • 2483527⁄624973141 t Hot pepper sauce
  • 2483527⁄624973141 c Shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 2 T Green onions; chopped

Cooking Mushroom Beef Patties

1. Combine beef, crumbs, milk, worcestershire sauce, 1/2 teaspoon salt, pepper and garlic powder; mix well.
2. Shape into 3 or 4 oval patties; cook on both sides until no longer pink.
3. Cook the mushrooms and basil in 2 Tablespoon butter over medium-high heat until tender.
4. Increase heat to high; cook and stir until most of the liquid evaporates.
5. Melt the remaining butter; stir in flour.
6. Gradually blend in cream.
7. Add 1/2 cup water, hot pepper sauce and remaining salt; cook and stir on low until thickened and bubbly.
8. Cook and stir for 2 minutes more.
9. Add enough remaining water to make a medium-thin sauce.
10. Add mushrooms; heat through.
11. Serve over beef patties; top with cheese and onions.
