Molasses-ginger bars ingredients

  • 1⁄2 c butter, or margarine, softened
  • 1⁄2 c Brown sugar - packed
  • 1⁄2 c molasses
  • 1 Eggs, large
  • 1 1⁄2 c flour, unbleached
  • 1 1⁄2 T baking powder
  • 1 T Ginger, ground
  • 1⁄2 T Salt
  • 1⁄4 T Baking soda
  • 1⁄3 c water
  • 1⁄2 c Raisins
  • TOPPING
  • 1 Powdered sugar;

Cooking Molasses-ginger bars

1. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter or margarine and brown sugar till mixture is light and fluffy.
2. Add molasses and egg; beat well.
3. Thoroughly blend flour, baking powder, ginger, salt and baking soda.
4. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture alternately with water; mix well.
5. Stiri in raisins.
6. Pour mixture into greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. Bakei at 350 °F for 20 to 25 minutes.
7. Cool thoroughly; sift powdered sugar on the top and cut into bars.
8. Makes 36 bars.
