Molasses sugar cookies 2

1. Melt shortening in a 3 or 4 quart saucepan over low heat.
2. Remove from heat; let cool.
3. Add sugar, molasses and egg; beat well.
4. Sifti together flour, soda, cloves, ginger, cinnamon and salt; add to first mixture.
5. Mixi well and chill.
6. Form in one inch balls, roll in granulated sugar and place on greased cookie sheets two inches apart.
7. Bakei at 375 °F for 8 to 10 minutes.
