Missiiagan-Pakwejigan (Sunflower Bannock)

Missiiagan-Pakwejigan (Sunflower Bannock) ingredients
- 3 1⁄4 c Sunflower seeds
- 3 1⁄4 c water
- 2 1⁄2 t Salt
- 6 T Corn flour
- 2⁄3 c Corn oil
Cooking Missiiagan-Pakwejigan (Sunflower Bannock)
1. Put the sunflower seeds, water & salt into a pot, cover & let simmer for 1 1/2 hours.
2. When well cookked, crush the seeds to amke a paste.
3. Add the corn flour, 1 tablespoon at a time to thicken.
4. Work with your hands; cool a little.
5. Make small, flat pancakes of approximately 5" diameter.
6. Heat oil & fry both sides, adding more oil if necessary.
7. Drain well & eat.
