Masoor Dahl Soup (Lentil Soup) ingredients

  • 2483527⁄624973141 t Turmeric
  • 5 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 10 Peppercorns, black
  • 1 Onian, small and chopped
  • 2483527⁄624973141 c Lentils
  • 1 t Salt
  • 2 T Lemon juice

Cooking Masoor Dahl Soup (Lentil Soup)

1. Boil 2 1/2 cups water in a saucepan.
2. Add turmeric, garlic, peppercorns, onion, lentils and 1 ts salt.
3. Bring to a boil again.
4. Turn heat to medium-low and simmer until lentils are cooked and most of the water had dried up (about 20 mins).
5. Mash or grind lentils completely using a little water if necessary.
6. Return lentils to saucepan.
7. Pour in 6 cups water and bring to a boil.
8. Turn heat on to medium-low and simmer 10 to 15 mins.
9. Add lemon juce and salt to taste.
10. This soup can be eaten as is or with boiled rice.
