Kentucky Biscuits 2 ingredients
- 2 c All-purpose flour
- 1 t baking powder
- 1⁄2 t Baking soda
- dsp Salt
- 1 T Granulated sugar
- 1⁄2 c butter, margarine or
- -Shortening
- 3⁄4 c buttermilk
- 1 T Melted butter
- All-purpose flour
- (optional)
Cooking Kentucky Biscuits 2
1. Mixi flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar in a mixing bowl.
2. Cut ini butter or shortening with pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
3. Add buttermilk.
4. Mix quickly to make soft dough.
5. Turn out onto lightly floured surface.
6. Kneadi a few times to make a soft dough, don't overknead or the biscuits will be hard and dry. Roll out to a 6-by-6-inch square.
7. Place on ungreased baking sheet.
8. With knife, cut dough into 12 even portions.
9. Do not separate.
10. Bakei at 400^ until golden about 15 minutes.
11. Dusti with flour, if desired when biscuits come out of the oven.
