Italian Stuffed Peppers

Italian Stuffed Peppers ingredients
- 4 Green bell pepper
- 1 lb beef ground round
- 1⁄2 c Onions
- 1 T garlic
- 2 T olive oil
- 1⁄4 t basil
- 1⁄4 t thyme
- 1⁄4 t Marjoram
- 1⁄4 t Salt
- 1⁄4 t Black pepper
- 16 oz Canned stewed tomatoes
- 8 oz Tomato sauce
- 1⁄4 c water
- quick cooking
- 2 oz Mozzarella cheese
Cooking Italian Stuffed Peppers
1. Cut tops from peppers, remove seeds blanch in boiling water for 5 minutes, drain well.
2. Heat olive oil in a skillet, over a moderate flame.
3. Add ground beef, onions, and garlic Sautei for 5 minutes.
4. Add oregano, basil, thyme, marjoram, salt, pepper, tomatoes, half of tomato sauce, water, and rice-stir to mix well.
5. Cover and simmer over a medium-low flame for 15 minutes place peppers upright in a casserole.
6. Fill with meat mixture, pack tightly.
7. Surround with remaining meat mixture.
8. Pour remaining tomato sauce over all. Top with grated mozzarella.
9. Remove from oven.
10. Serve hot.
