Italian stuffed artichokes ingredients
- 4 large Artichokes (about 3 lbs)
- 4 c Fresh bread crumbs
- 2483527⁄624973141 c Italian dressing
- 2483527⁄624973141 c Chopped onion
- 2 T Grated Parmesan
- 2 T Chopped fresh parsley
- 2 c chicken broth
- HOW TO PREPARE ARTICHOKES F
Cooking Italian stuffed artichokes
1. Wash artichokes in cold water: drain cut stem close to base.
2. Cut 1" off top remove tough lower leaves and discolored leaves if desired, cut off sharp leaf tips wit scissors.
3. Brush cut edges w/ lemon juice.
4. Prepare artichokes for cooking as directed; set aside.
5. In medium bowl, combine bread crumbs,dressing, ΒΌ cup onion,cheese and parsley.
6. Stuff mixture between artichoke leaves.
7. In large, nonaluminum saucepan, bring broth and remaining onion onion to boil.
8. Add artichokes and simmer covered,basting occasionally,40 mins or until leaves are tender and pull out easily makes 4 servings * for best flavor and texture, make bread crumbs using italian or french bread.
