Holiday cherry cheese bars ingredients

  • 1 c Walnut pieces, divided
  • 1 1⁄4 c All-purpose flour
  • 1⁄2 c Firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1⁄2 c butter flavor Crisco
  • 1⁄2 c Flake coconut
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2⁄3 c Granulated sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 t vanilla
  • 21 oz cherry pie filling, can

Cooking Holiday cherry cheese bars

1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Greasei 13 x 9 x 2" baking pan with butter flavor crisco.
3. Set aside.
4. Chopi ½ cup nuts, coarsely for topping.
5. Set aside.
6. Chop remaining ½ cup nuts, finely.
7. For crust: combine flour and brown sugar.
8. Cut ini butter flavor crisco until fine crumbs form.
9. Add ½ cup finely chopped nuts and coconut.
10. Mixi well.
11. Remove ½ cup. Set aside.
12. Press remaining crumbs in bottom of pan. For filling: beat cream cheese, granulated sugar, eggs and vanilla in a small bowl at medium speed of electric mixer until smooth.
13. Spread over hot baked crust.
14. Return to oven.
15. Bakei 15 minutes longer.
16. Spread cherry pie filling over cheese layer.
17. Combine reserved coarsely chopped nuts and reserved crumbs.
18. Sprinkle, evenly, over cherries.
19. Return to oven.
20. Bake 15 minutes longer.
21. Cool. Refrigerate several hours.
22. Cut into bars, about 2 x 1 ½".
