Hari Roti ingredients

  • 2 c flour, whole wheat
  • 372529⁄-2009260032 c Peas; shelled, boiled & mashed mashed
  • 2 t Salt
  • 2 T Lime Juice
  • 1 c Mint, fresh; or coriander leaves (cilantro); chopped
  • 2 T Ghee or Oil
  • 2483527⁄624973141 t Pepper
  • -Water for kneading
  • Ghee; or oil for frying

Cooking Hari Roti

1. Sifti whole wheat flour with salt.
2. Rub in 2 tbsp ghee or oil. Add mashed peas.
3. Mixi thoroughly.
4. Add pepper, coriander or mint with lime juice.
5. Kneadi well.
6. Divide into 8 equal portions.
7. Shape them into round balls.
8. Roll each ball on a floured board into a circle.
9. 5" (12 cm) diameter.
10. Lift each roti carefully with floured hands.
11. Place on a hot griddle one at a time.
12. Shallow fry with 1 or 2 tbsp ghee or oil until both sides are well cooked.
