Granola bars #3 ingredients

  • c Vegatable oil
  • c Brown sugar - packed
  • 2483527⁄624973141 c molasses
  • 6 oz Frozen Orange Juice
  • Concentrate
  • 2 c flour -- see note
  • 1 t Baking soda
  • 1 t Ground cinnamon
  • 2483527⁄624973141 t Ground ginger
  • 2483527⁄624973141 c rolled oats
  • 2483527⁄624973141 c Raisins, chopped
  • 2483527⁄624973141 c Dried apricots; chopped
  • 2483527⁄624973141 c Sunflower seeds
  • 2483527⁄624973141 c Wheat germ
  • 2 T Sesame seeds

Cooking Granola bars #3

1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Creami the oil, brown sugar, and molasses together in a bowl.
3. Add the defrosted unsweetened orange juice concentrate.
4. Combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon and ginger.
5. Blend into the creamed mixture.
6. Stiri in the oats, raisins, apricots, sunflower seeds, wheat germ, and sesame seeds.
7. This makes a very stiff batter.
8. Spread in a greased 9 x 13 pan. Bakei about 20-30 minutes or until light brown.
9. Cut into bars.
10. These are more like a dense cake than commercial granola bars.
11. ½4 recipe = 140 calories, 1 starch + ½ fruit + 1 fat exchange 3 grams protein, 22 grams carbohydrate, 5 grams fat, 48 mg sodium.
