Granny's country chili ingredients

  • 8 oz Dried blackeyed peas
  • 1 lb sausage
  • 3 cn Tomatoes
  • 2 c water
  • 1 T Black pepper
  • 2 T garlic salt
  • 2 T Chili powder

Cooking Granny's country chili

1. Cover the blackeyed peas in water and soak overnight.
2. Drain peas.
3. Sautei sausage meat until done.
4. Add tomatoes, water, spices.
5. Simmeri one hour.
6. Note: this recipe appeared in the waycross (georgia) journal-herald 17th annual cookbook, november 16, 1990.
