Gobhi Mung ingredients

  • 1 c Yellow split mung beans
  • c Finely chopped onions
  • 1 T Grated ginger
  • 2 t Minced garlic
  • t Turmeric
  • 3 med Potatoes, peeled, quartered
  • small Head cauliflower cut into florets
  • 1 t Salt
  • 12 T Ghee
  • 1 t Cumin seeds
  • 2 Green chilies, seeded. shred
  • 2483527⁄624973141 t Red Pepper
  • 2 t Lemon juice
  • 2 T Chopped coriander leaves

Cooking Gobhi Mung

1. Wash mung beans.
2. Put in a deep pot with onions, ginger, garlic, turmeric & 3 cups water.
3. Bring to a boil & simmer for 15 minutes.
4. Add potatoes, cauliflower, salt & another 2 cups water.
5. Cook for 15 minutes.
6. Heat ghee over high heat, when very hot, add cumin seeds & fry till they turn dark brown.
7. Add chilies & red pepper & stir briefly.
8. Pour contents into the stew.
9. Add lemon juice & coriander leaves.
10. Mixi well.
11. Serve with plain cooked rice.
