German Chocolate Upside-Down Surprise Cake ingredients

  • 1 c Flaked coconut
  • 1 c Pecans; chopped
  • 1 pk German chocolate cake mix
  • 1 1⁄4 c water
  • 1⁄3 c Oil
  • 3 Eggs
  • 3 1⁄2 c Confectioners' sugar
  • 1 c margarine; melted
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

Cooking German Chocolate Upside-Down Surprise Cake

1. Heat oven to 375~.
2. Greasei a 9x13-inch pan. Sprinkle coconut and pecans evenly over bottom of greased pan. In a large bowl, combine cake mix, water, oil and eggs at Low speed until moistened; beat 2 minutes at High speed.
3. Spoon batter evenly over coconut and pecans.
4. In another large bowl, combine confectioners' sugar, margarine and cream cheese; beat until smooth and creamy.
5. Spoon evenly over batter TO WITHIN 1 inch of edge.
6. Bakei at 375~ for 43 to 53 minutes, or until a tothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
7. Cool completely.
8. Cut into squares.
9. Invert each square onto individual plates.
10. Serve warm or cool.
11. Store in refrigerator.
