General Tso's Chicken 2 ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breasts
  • -boneless, skinless,
  • - cut into 1" pieces
  • 3 T soy sauce
  • 1 T Cornstarch
  • 1 Egg whites -- beaten frothy
  • 1 c Vegatable oil
  • 3 Dried hot chili peppers
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 1" piece gingerroot; peeled and finely chopped
  • 1 T white wine vinegar
  • 1 T white wine
  • 1 t Cornstarch
  • 1 T Brown sugar
  • 1 t Sesame oil
  • 1⁄4 t Salt

Cooking General Tso's Chicken 2

1. In a glass bowl, place chicken pieces.
2. Combine 1 tbls.
3. soy sauce and 1 tbls.
4. cornstarch.
5. Blend in beaten egg white.
6. Pour over chicken and toss to coat well.
7. Marinatei in refrigerator for 1 hour.
8. In a small bowl, combine remaining soy sauce, vinegar, white wine, and 1 tsp. cornstarch; mix until smooth.
9. Stiri in sugar, sesame oil and salt.
10. In a wok heat oil. Deep-fry chicken, a few pieces at a time, about 1 minute, or until golden brown.
11. Remove and drain on paper towel.
12. Pour all but 2 tbls.
13. oil out of wok. To the wok, add chili peppers, garlic and ginger; stir-fry 1 minute.
14. Pour sauce mixture into wok and cook, stirring, about 1 minute, until thickened.
15. Return chicken pieces to wok. Mixi well and serve immediately.
16. I like to serve this with rice and Sauteed Snow Peas and Red Peppers.
17. The chicken is spicy hot with the dried chili peppers, so adjust to your taste.
