Fruit pockets ingredients

  • 2 c Cake flour
  • 2 t baking powder
  • 1⁄4 t Salt
  • 2 T Powdered sugar
  • 2 T butter or butter substitute
  • 2⁄3 c Sweet Milk
  • 1 Egg white, slightly beaten
  • Filling:
  • 1⁄4 c Chopped raisins
  • 1⁄4 c Chopped nuts
  • 2 T Orange juice
  • 1⁄4 t Cinnamon
  • 1 T Lemon juice
  • 1⁄4 c Chopped citron
  • 1⁄4 c currants
  • 1⁄4 t Allspice
  • 1⁄4 t cloves
  • 2 T Sugar

Cooking Fruit pockets

1. Sifti flour, measure, and sift with baking powder and salt.
2. Cut ini butter with 2 spatulas.
3. Add milk.
4. Mixi lightly until well blended.
5. Turn onto lightly floured board.
6. Roll in sheet 1/3 inch thick.
7. Cut in ovals 4 inches long.
8. Combine raisins, nuts, orange juice, lemon juice, spices, currants, citron, and sugar.
9. Mix thoroughly.
10. Place 1 tablespoon on half of each oval.
11. Brush edges of dough with egg white.
12. Foldi over.
13. Press firmly together.
14. Press lightly to flatten.
15. Make 3 short cuts across the top of each oval with the scissors.
16. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
17. Place 2 inches apart on well-oiled baking sheet.
18. Bakei in hot oven (450°F) until evenly browned.
19. 16 servings.
