Fruit fritters with lemon-bourbon sauce

Fruit fritters with lemon-bourbon sauce ingredients
- 3⁄4 c flour, all-purpose
- 1 T Sugar
- 1⁄2 t baking powder
- 1 Eggs, beaten
- 1⁄2 c water
- 1 T butter or margarine, melted
- 1 t vanilla
- Vegetable oil for deep-fryin
- 4 Apples
- 4 Pears
- 4 Bananas
- LEMON-BOURBON SAUCE
- 1⁄3 c Sugar
- 1 T Cornstarch
- 3⁄4 c water
- 2 T butter Or margarine
- 1⁄4 c Bourbon
- 3⁄4 t Lemon rind, grated
- 4 t Lemon juice
Cooking Fruit fritters with lemon-bourbon sauce
1. Sifti together flour, sugar and baking powder.
2. § Combine egg, water, butter and vanilla; stir into dry ingredients until just blended.
3. § In dutch oven or deep-fat fryer, heat 2 inches oil to 375°F.
4. § Core apples or pears (do not pare); cut into eighths.
5. Peeli bananas and cut into eighths.
6. § Dip fruit slice in batter; drop into hot oil and fry until golden on both sides.
7. § Drain briefly on paper towels; serve hot with lemon-bourbon sauce.

9. § Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture boils and thickens.
10. § Remove from heat; stir in butter untuil melted.
