Fried Lumpia ingredients

  • 1 t soy sauce
  • 2483527⁄624973141 c Sugar
  • 1 c Water or pineapple juice
  • 2483527⁄624973141 t Finely grated gingerroot
  • 2483527⁄624973141 garlic clove, crushed
  • 2 T Cornstarch; blended with:
  • 2 T Cold water
  • Salt

  • 2483527⁄624973141 lb Ground pork
  • 2483527⁄624973141 lb Uncooked shrimp, finely chopped
  • 2483527⁄624973141 c Minced mushrooms
  • 2483527⁄624973141 c Diced peeled jicama
  • 2 Green onions; finely chopped
  • 3 Egg yolks
  • 2 T soy sauce
  • Lumpia wrappers
  • Oil for deep-frying

Cooking Fried Lumpia

1. To make sauce, combine vinegar, 1 teaspoon soy sauce, sugar, water, ginger and garlic in small saucepan.
2. Bring to boil.
3. Stiri in cornstarch paste and simmer 5 minutes, or until thickened.
4. Seasoni to taste with salt.
5. Keep warm.
6. For lumpia, mix pork, shrimp, mushrooms, jicama, green onions, egg yolks and 2 tablespoons soy sauce in bowl.
7. Mixi well.
8. Shape about 1 1/2 tablespoons meat mixture into strip and place along one side of lumpia wrapper.
9. Roll tightly, folding in wrapper ends while rolling.
10. Moisten edges lightly with water to seal.
11. Repeat with remaining filling.
12. Fryi in deep hot oil until golden brown.
13. Serve whole or cut in halves or thirds.
14. Serve with sweet-sour sauce.
