Fried herrings and onion sauce ingredients

  • 8 med Sized herrings
  • 2 Eggs
  • Bread crumbs
  • 4 T flour
  • 3 large Onions, finely chopped
  • Milk
  • Salt to taste
  • Sugar to taste
  • butter

Cooking Fried herrings and onion sauce

1. Rinse and bone the herrings.
2. Dip in flour (2 tablespoons), the beaten eggs and the bread crumbs.
3. Fryi in plenty of butter.
4. Serve with onion sauce and boiled potatoes.
5. to make the onion sauce melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a pot over a low flame.
6. Stiri in 2 tablespoons flour and add milk, keeping mixture smooth.
7. Cook until thickened.
8. Add onions and bring to a boil.
9. (if desired onions may be boiled first in a little water).
10. Seasoni with salt and sugar.
