French Apple Pie Low-Fat ingredients

  • 1 light & flaky pie crust
  • 372529⁄-2009260032 c applesauce, thick unsweetened
  • 2483527⁄624973141 c Honey
  • 3 T apple brandy, optional
  • 1 T vanilla extract
  • 1 Lemon; grated rind of
  • 1 apples, tart, peeled, thinly sliced
  • 2483527⁄624973141 c apricot jam, all-fruit

Cooking French Apple Pie Low-Fat

1. Prepare and bake crust according to recipe instructions.
2. (See Light & Flaky Pie Crust recipe.
3. ) Set aside.
4. (Or use your own crust recipe.
5. )

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. In a 2 quart saucepan over medium-high heat, simmer applesauce, honey, brandy if desired, vanilla and lemon rind until quite thick, about 10 to 15 minutes.
6. Pour mixture into prepared crust.
7. Arrange apples in concentric circles on top of sauce.
8. In a 1 quart saucepan over medium-high heat, melt apricot jam, then press through a sieve.
9. Use a pastry brush to glaze apples with jam. Bakei for 30 minutes.
10. Let cool before slicing.
