Fish in a Packet ingredients

  • 4 foil or baking parchment
  • 16 oz Flounder fillets
  • Fresh Herbs
  • 1 c Vegetables
  • 4 t Unsalted margarine

Cooking Fish in a Packet

1. To prepare each packet, place fish in center of foil or parchment and sprinkle with one of the suggested combination ingredients.
2. Foldi foil over ingredients and secure all edges for a tight seal.
3. Place in a shallow baking pan and bake at 375 °F. For approximately 20 minutes or until fish turns opaque.
4. Suggested Combinations:fish, spinach, lemon juice, nutmeg, margarinefish, scallions, carrots, curry powder, margarinefish, celery, lemon juice, thyme, margarinefish, cucumber, lemon juice, dill parsley, margarinefish, tomato, scallions, basil, lemon juice, margarineThis method of preparing fish produces a result somewhere between baking and steaming.
5. The juices from the fish, herbs and vegetables blend and baste the fish.
6. Because the individual servings are sealed in a packet, nothing is lost.
7. You might want to serve fish packets with cooked rice, bread or pita to get every last drop.
8. Note: Baking parchment may be substituted for foil and the packets can be cooked in the microwave.
9. Adjust time as needed.
