Filet Mignon ingredients

  • 6 filet mignon -- (1 to 1 1/2-inch)
  • 2 T butter
  • 1 T olive oil

Cooking Filet Mignon

1. Directions: Combine butter and oil in heavy skillet over medium-high heat.
2. When pan is hot, add the filets.
3. Cook 4 – 5 minutes, turn and continue cooking for 4 – 5 minutes or until degree of doneness desired.
4. May use instant read thermometer if exact internal temperature desired.
5. Transfer to a warmed platter and serve with caramelized onions, horseradish sauce or flavored butter.
6. Broiling instructions: preheat broiler and place filets 3-inches from heat.
7. Broil for 4-5 minutes; turn and broil another 4-5 minutes or until degree of doneness desired.
